In 2018 a cross-disciplinary group of students worked together on a design challenge at the intersection of the urban and the ”un-urban”. The summer workshop was located in Træna, a small island community at the Arctic Circle in Northern-Norway. The design challenge was to find a new use, layout, design, and concept for old an old community house, ”Grendahuset”.

It was a collaboration between AIR Træna, Grendahusets Venner, School of Visual Arts New York, Umeå School of Architecture, Oslo School of Architecture and Design and DOGA, Norway.

The project was displayed at Design & Architecture Norway (DOGA) and opened at the STAY HUMAN Conference, January 10, 2019.
